Andee Arches is a multi-disciplinary artist with the focus on video production

Andee grew up in Manila, Philippines, but has called Virginia her home since 2006. Her first experiences of America sparked her interest in photography, which jumpstarted her work as a multi-disciplinary artist. The contrast between both worlds is her compass as a storyteller. She is a member of Women in Film & Video - DC Chapter and Brown Girls Doc Mafia. She won Best Cinematography at the 2018 48hr Horror Film Fest, Richmond chapter.

Working as a freelancer out of Richmond, VA, she’s currently directing a short documentary, Camp Spokes: Shred Into Tomorrow, about a free week-long bike mechanics camp for girls and gender non-conforming youth in Richmond, VA. This short film is fiscally sponsored by Southern Documentary Fund and has received support from Mark Duplass of Duplass Brothers Productions.

In her spare time, she volunteers at WRIR-LP 97.3 FM Richmond Independent Radio as a co-chair and video producer for WRIR’s video department. She occasionally DJs as DJ Headhunt. She enjoys rewatching film classics and TV shows as research, deciphering the production behind them. She does experimental video poetry and experiments with sound collage art. She loves everything visual and auditory such as field recordings, noise, all types of music, and podcasts.

Tell me something good.
